Biography
Veronique Ngo-Sach-Hien
was born in Paris and started piano lessons with Jacqueline
Pouillard at the age of seven. In 1985, Veronique was admitted to
‘Le Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris’ where she studied
with Christian Manen, Yvonne Loriod, and Michel Beroff for piano and
Anne Grapotte for Chamber music. Ultimately she obtained a
‘Premier Medaille’ for advanced Solfege and first prizes for Piano,
Chamber Music and Vocal accompaniment.

Between 1998 and 2000,
Veronique pursued post graduate studies for Chamber music and,
simultaneously, advanced piano with Irina Zaritskaya at the Royal
College of Music in London where she obtained the First prize for the
Kathleen Long Chamber Music award as well as the Norris Price
award, Second prize for the Kendal Taylor award, and the RCM
advenced post graduate diploma with honours.
Veronique has also performed in master classes given by
Paul Bradura- Skoda, Nikita Magaloff and Murray Perahia. As a
participant of the course for piano accompaniment directed by
Ruben Lifschitz at Royaumont Abbey, Veronique had occasion to accompany
the Mezzo Soprano Monique Simon.
A further intensive course for accompaniment and Lieder studies was
undertaken at the Frankfort Music Hochschule, directed by Rainer
Hoffman and Charles Spencer during which she encountered such
eminent figures such as Christa Ludwig , Tabea Zimmerman, Noel Lee and
Gerard Sousay.
Veronique was a semi-finalist in the International Chopin competition
in Darmstadt and now appears as Soloist and in Chamber
music recitals throughout France and abroad. Among her most
memorable concerts were such venues as ‘Salle Olivier Messiaen’, ‘Radio
France’, Salles Cortot and Chopin-Pleyel and the Abbeys of Royaumont
and Fontmorigny. Concert performances in the Royaume Uni have
included Birmingham town hall, St Martin’s in the Fields, Blackheath
Concert Hall, Saint James Piccadilly, The University of Warwick Music
Centre and the Edinburgh Festival.
In
Germany and Switzerland, Veronique has appeared in Basler Münster, the
Ticino Musica festival and the Stuttgart Music Hochschule.
Performances in Italy and Spain have included the’ Theatre
della Music in Ancona’, the ‘ Centro Tempo Real in Florence and the
‘Livia’ music festival. Engagements further afield have included
concerts in Korea and China in such venues as the Teague
Quekory concert hall, the Masan MBC Concert Hall and the universities
of Hefei and Anguing.
Veronique has performed several concertos with the ‘Youth Philharmonic
of Seine St Denis’, the ‘London schools
symphony orchestra’ and the ‘State Orchestra of Lithuania’. Since
year 2000 she has been invited to accompany recitals given by violinist
Francesco Parrino, and flautists Susan Milan, Mihi Kim and Odinn Baldvinsson.
In collaboration with the oboist Christian Schmitt and recently the
clarinetist Christian Georgy, Veronique is the co-dedicatee for the
‘Sonata for Oboe and Piano' and the ' Three Nocturnes for
clarinet and piano' by the composer Laurent Riou. She has performed
also for several 'world premiers for other composers.
Veronique is professor of accompaniment, and principal accompanist at
the ’Conservatoire de Music’ of Montbeliard, France and also a member
of the ‘Interactive Music ensemble,’ a contemporary music workshop
directed by the composer Jacopo Baboni-Schilling.
